The Art of Promoting Healthy Sexuality
Art has always played an essential role in bringing attention to important social justice issues. At Pro-Choice Resources (PCR), we believe that the success of Art for Choice is due to the generous support of artists and businesses who are willing to stand-up for the health and well-being of women and youth in Minnesota.

PCR is a Twin Cities grassroots organization that has worked for over 42 years to knock down the barriers that keep women and youth from receiving the sexual health information and services they need and want. Each year they serve over 25,000 people through one-of-a-kind programming.

PCR's programs:

Provide accurate sexual health information so that people have the tools they need to make important life decisions.
PCR believes people can’t make smart decisions about their sex life if they don’t have accurate information – so we educate thousands through the Birds & Bees Project. Our programming focuses on people who have the least access to sex education, such as women in prison and youth in alternative schools. But we couldn’t do this work alone, so we started the first and only sexual health residency program in the country; training future teachers to ensure that Minnesota teens have the tools they need to make healthy choices.

Create a place for women to talk about their sexual health experiences, reducing the stigma of choosing abortion.
PCR believes that the stigma of abortion can't be reduced unless people talk about it, so we offer Emerge - the first pro-choice, after-abortion support group in the nation. We understand it’s important for women to be able to discuss their abortion experiences openly and create a space where they can talk about their experiences outside of the polarizing debate. Personalizing, rather than politicizing, this common experience that one in three women in our society share.

PCR offers one-of-a-kind programming that is shaped around the needs of people living in the Twin Cities. This is why we are not affiliated with any national organization, and we do not receive any United Way or government funding. We simply rely on the generous support of foundations and dedicated individuals to support their crucial work.

Help low-income women access the healthcare they want.
Many women in America are not able to make the important life decision they feel is best for them when faced with an unplanned pregnancy. In Minnesota, there an many resources to help women who choose to place their child for adoption or parent. Yet the Hersey Abortion Assistance Fund is the only resource helping women who would like to choose the option of abortion, but are unable to afford it.

PCR gives away thousands of dollars each year to pay for abortions when women decide it is the best choice for themselves and their families.
